The intention of the Mathematics curriculum at Weald of Kent Grammar School is to ensure our students develop an understanding of the fundamentals that underpin everything in the world about them. Mathematics is the language of nature. It is used to explain everything around us from the things that grow to the things that are created by human thought and then manufactured. It was Galileo Galilei who said "...the book of nature is written in the language of mathematics."  Our aim is that each student develops their thinking skills and is able to apply mathematical knowledge and concepts to solving problems from a variety of contexts and disciplines. We want to inspire them and provide them with a variety of transferable skills, which will support their future aspirations, whatever these might be and where ever they might lead.
