I would like to welcome you to the Weald of Kent Grammar School. We have expanded as a school over the recent past and in 2017, opened with the Secretary of State’s permission our second campus in Sevenoaks.
Our ethos is focused on making sure that all of our students reach their full potential whilst also developing the core personal skills and attributes they need to succeed in the future. The education we provide at this school is holistic and focuses on developing the whole student. We ascribe to believing academic excellence is achieved where students grow the emotional intelligence necessary to be self-reflective, able to progress further and be personally successful.
Our school’s values reflect the priorities we believe are essential for our community to flourish namely we promote students’ individuality, insist on good manners; support our students to develop their resilience; we expect all students to act with integrity and everyone at the school is required to demonstrate tolerance.
We know that happy students are able to progress in their learning and make the most of the opportunities that they are offered at school. We have a strong and supportive pastoral care system at the school which is based upon all students having an individual form tutor and head of year who oversees their personal development. In addition, we have an excellent student services department at both campuses where specialist staff are available throughout the school day to support any students who may require it.
We are delighted that you are interested in finding out more about our school and we would encourage you to visit us in person to get a real sense of what being a student at the Weald of Kent Grammar school is like. We are confident that when you visit us you will see a warm and caring community that is purposeful and forward looking.
Mr R Booth (Headteacher)
