The intention of the English curriculum at Weald of Kent Grammar School is to nurture and develop in our students a life-long love of reading. We want our students to be able to read and interpret texts of all types and genres to enable them to flourish as they become independent adults. We believe that communication is central to the fulfilment and happiness of both individuals and society as a whole and we aim to equip our students with all that they need to express themselves fluently and confidently, both orally and in writing, with the ability to listen with sensitivity to others.
