The intention of the Drama curriculum at Weald of Kent Grammar School is to instil an ability to be proactive in group work, both as a leader and a team player. We want students to build a resilience to cope with friendship issues, and to be able to open their minds to a range of social, political and historical scenarios which have an impact on their world. In addition, we aim to develop the wider skills of problem solving, exploring and reflecting on work or decisions made. With this foundation of transferable skills, our students develop the key drama techniques personified by confidence, creativity and the ability to take pride in their presentation work.

We believe that Drama should be challenging yet enjoyable and provide a safe environment for learners to experiment with the building blocks of real life.
