On Thursday 26th March, 2 teams of Weald super readers set off to Harris Academy, Chafford Hundred in Essex to compete in the regional heat for the Senior National Reading Champions Quiz, accompanied by Mrs Quinnell and Mrs Shorten from the library. They faced 8 rounds of tough questioning all about books for children and young people and were up against 22 other teams from the Thames Gateway region.
Both teams had a brilliant time and performed extremely well in a very closely fought competition. The Tonbridge team of Talulah, Penny, Olivia and Maddie finished in joint 4th place with a score of 57 points, and the Sevenoaks team of Bea, Tilly, Harriet and Eliza came in at 8th place with 53 points. We are extremely proud of them all and already looking forward to having another go at the quiz next year. Here is Talulah speaking about the event:
"I really enjoyed doing the quiz! It was really fun to participate with the rest of the team in such a friendly competition against all the other schools".
