British Schools Southern Zonal Trampolining Competition

On Sunday 25th January, 8 students competed in the prestigious Southern Zonal Trampolining Competition held in Weston-Super-Mare, where students were up against competitors from the whole of the South of England.

In the Years 7-9 Novice category, the team, made up of Amy (9J) , Jess (9E), Maeve (9I) and Emma (8H), finished in 9th place in a strong field of school teams. Individually, Emma finished in 15th place, Jess in 28th and Maeve in 41st place which is an amazing achievement in such a large group of competitors.

In the Years 10-14 Novice category, Amirtha (11C) completed two solid routines, awarding her 9th place out of 19 competitors.

The final group of the day consisted of the Years 10-14 Intermediate category where students can compete up to three somersaults in their routine. Sophie (13E) pulled off two incredible routines putting her in 1st place and gaining a qualification to the National Finals. Phoebe (10H) also performed two lovely routines placing her 9th out of 17 competitors.

In addition, the team made up of Sophie, Phoebe and Chloe (10D) came 1st which also means that they have qualified for a place at the National Finals!

A huge congratulations to all competitors and we wish them the best of luck in March when they attend the National Finals at Derby Arena.
